Frank Dux- Another Lie Exposed
Wednesday, February 11, 2015
You can't do good budo with bad people. It is just a fact. If your teacher doesn't have integrity, then there is nothing they can show you that is worth it. Integrity is a cornerstone of martial arts. People often claim that you must show blind respect, but that has to be earned. So when I blast frauds about their lying about their qualifications, it really isn't about whether their art is as old as they say. It is about the fact that they know they are lying about something to make themselves look good. That type of teacher is a cancer in the marital arts community.
In this blog, I will be showing how you can't even trust videos now for "proof" of a teacher's claims. As those that have read my blogs probably know, I often say that the most important thing you need to do to determine if a teacher is legit and worth training with is to check their personal claims. Don't worry about something that happened 300 years ago in their tradition. Instead, if the teacher claims to be ex-CIA, then confirm that. If he claims to be taught by some guy named Senzo Tanaka, then find the guy and have him confirm it. If they claim to have fought in a secret death match, then don't rely on trophies they bought at a local shop as proof.
In all these examples, Frank Dux falls flat on his face.
Dux has made his living off of his lies. He is over the hill and without any real skills. He is desperate to convince people that he really was all his claims to be because otherwise he couldn't get a job as a night manager at a Taco Bell. He has used so many tactics to spread his lies that I figured out I couldn't deal with them all in something like a blog. So over the next few months, I will occasionally be doing something where I show what to look out for in a teacher's claims using him or someone else as an example.
As I said, this time around I am talking about how even video can't be trusted to back up a teacher's claims.
In case you didn't know, one of Frank Dux's many lies is that he fought in a secret death match called the kumite. It was the basis of the movie "Bloodsport." Of course, many people have found holes in Dux's story, including the discovery that the trophy he claimed he got from it was in fact bought from a store not far from his place in Southern California. Dux has a pattern of accusing those that expose him for what he is with various slanders. Listening to him, you would think that the entire illuminati work to somehow bring him down and anyone that dares question his claims is accused of various crimes against humanity. Sadly, there are plenty of idiots that eat that stuff up.
Dux has tried to present the following footage as of being him at the kumite.
Now, I am going to show that claim for the lie it is. The important thing for readers of this blog is to use this as an example so that you won't fall for the lies of frauds other than Frank Dux.
First of all, lets establish that Frank Dux actually tried to claim that this video was of him. Because it is not, and it can be proved that it is not, I am sure that Dux will now start claiming that he never tried to say it was.
But look at these screen shots. Some folks have been watching Dux for a while and quietly took these of him taking credit for the video. Dux might delete the posts themselves, but these live on as proof. What makes me scratch my head are all the idiots that support him and saw him claim credit who will still continue to make excuses for him.
Now let me pound yet another nail in the coffin. Dux did an interview with a show called “The Voice” and during the presentation, many clips from this video were played while they were talking about the kumite. Just the fact alone that Dux never stood up and said that the videos were not of him and so they should not have been used in his interview should be enough to show that he was firmly behind the idea of saying they were. But just to be sure, one of my associates went ahead and asked them where they got the video. Their response is below. They say that Dux himself provided the video to them. Oops! Dux is busted again!
Now that it is clear that Dux did indeed try to say that this video was of him fighting in a secret match, here is the truth.
The person in the videos is a martial artist named Mssr. Philippe Cadoret. The video is of him fighting in Taiwan in 1986. You can find a web page about him at the following link.
http://wuchuantaokungfu.free.fr/acceuil.html
Of course, you might have trouble reading French, but I think it will soon be clear that the person in the video is him and not Dux. Of course, there are other things as well. For example, those that are familiar with Dux's lie about the kumite know that it is said to have happened in the 70s, while the advertisement for Fuji Film in the background of the video dates from the mid 80s.
Now we are seeing a back tracking. Someone contacted the web site devoted to Cadoret and his son got involved. He posted the following on Dux's facebook page. It was later deleted, and now Dux is trying to delete all record of him being part of this obvious fraud. But the screen shots remain and show him to be the liar he is.
Now that we have established that Dux has been proven to be a liar, the question is why anyone would want to associate with him. Do you not care that he lies? Well, that tells me a lot about you if you say that. Those that overlook this type of thing obviously don't have much integrity, and so they aren't worthy of being called martial artists.
As for Dux's ability to fight, it is laughable. People that really can kick ass don't need to make up lies about fighting in tournaments like this. An ex- student of his who saw the light once said that in his youth Dux was able to pull off a lot of things because he was big and strong. Now that he is getting up in years and is losing his strength, his flaws are becoming more and more a liability. I have seen a video of him and he obviously lacks the fine points that make a true master. He still is larger than most, and made sure to film himself with someone smaller than him, but when he teaches that stuff to his students and they try to use it on someone larger and stronger than they, it will be them that end up in the hospital and not Dux.
When looking for a martial arts teacher, you need to start with integrity. Someone like Dux who is caught in a lie like this obviously has none. The fact that he is nowhere near the level of mastery that I have seen in my teachers is besides the point. And I can't stress it enough that it is these types of claims that you need to use to determine if someone has integrity or not. Maybe they got the history of their teacher wrong. That sort of thing happens. But there is no way Dux could not have realized that this guy wasn't him and yet he still tried for well over a year to claim it was. That is a slam dunk and proves he lacks the ethics you need in a teacher. You need to trust your teacher when you study martial arts, otherwise you have nothing. But look how many people he fooled by this video. Can you trust anything like a video that someone claims to be of them? It would take a lot of ego to say you can't be fooled like all the other idiots. Everyone can be fooled. You owe it to yourself to doubt yourself and really look into the personal claims of a teacher before you trust them to guide you down the path of martial arts.
Edit- Frank Dux has responded and released a statement after this came out. It is so silly as to beggar belief, but I will post it and then point out the problems with this lie. Here is what Dux says,
"I haven't read the posts as they are in full swing... only problem with their argument begins with fact one I never said it was me and two there is no record of the person they say it is in video... which is stolen from my possession in 1980s and is filed in police report where the thieves were apprehended and convicted, who are connected to Cadoret. I have not been served nor I have I seen any comments directed to me... The video was supplied to provide example of that Full contact Kumite existing prior to MMA, where it comes from."
"People made the leap it's me and the reality is there is no proof it is the person they allege it is, it's debatable."
"What is part of their modus operandi is to attribute to me false or contestable statement I never made to later hold me up to ridicule."
"This is part of an observable pattern of behavior."
Let me first point something out, Dux is now saying that he never claimed that the footage was of him. Uh, really? Let me share a photo once again.
So, there is Frank Dux on his facebook page sharing a link to the video and making the comment, “They say it never existed.”
And now he is saying,
"What is part of their modus operandi is to attribute to me false or contestable statement I never made to later hold me up to ridicule."
Yes, he is saying he never claimed it was him, even though he posted the video himself with the comments about how people claimed the kumite he fought in never existed. For well over a year, people used this as an example of HIM and he never corrected them. Watch the video again if you need to, because the video itself says it is him at the kumite and he shared it knowing what it said. He supplied it to an interview and they played it as being HIM and he never made mention that it wasn’t. Now he expects that his followers are so stupid as to think that he never tried to take credit for it.
And..... At the same time he is saying this, "People made the leap it's me and the reality is there is no proof it is the person they allege it is, it's debatable."
Well yes, people assumed that it was you because you shared it commenting about how your critics said it never happened. The second part of the statement is rather strange in that Dux seems to be trying to claim it is not Cadoret. I think I have proved that with the link above. It has been there for years, long before Dux tried sharing it on his facebook page. So, even now he is trying to keep the idea that it is him alive.
In fact, he kind of tries to double down with the following statement.
" only problem with their argument begins with fact one I never said it was me and two there is no record of the person they say it is in video... which is stolen from my possession in 1980s and is filed in police report where the thieves were apprehended and convicted, who are connected to Cadoret. "
So, Dux is claiming the video was in his possession and stolen from him. He has made the accusation that the people involved were connected to Cadoret.
First of all, as bad as those that make claims without backing them up are, those that accuse others of something as bad as criminal acts and they refuse to prove those accusations are much worse. Dux has made accusations against Cadoret, and he has shown no proof to these accusations. No police report, no court records of the convictions he says happened, no link between the convicted criminals he says exist and Cadoret.
This is part of Dux’s pattern of behavior, when shown to lie make accusations without proof against those standing up for the truth. Who can condone such vile behavior? If you accuse someone of criminal activity, it is up to you to prove it. Dux has shown once again that he is without ethics as well as being a very low- level martial artists and not too bright.
Second, are we to believe that Dux had something stolen from him and it then was somehow transferred to Cadoret, and yet when it surfaced on youtube he just shared it without ever mentioning that little fact? How stupid does he think his followers are? If some film you had (back before digital video and things had to be copied from film negatives) was stolen and showed up on youtube a few decades later, wouldn’t you make mention of it? Well, Dux never did. He just shared it without any mention of it being stolen- until people like Jackie, Dieter and I pointed out that it had existed on another site for years before it was used by him.
Dux seems a bit desperate. Only the most stupid would believe it if they thought the matter over for a while. Anyone that has an ounce of ethics would demand proof of accusations before they believe it. Well, I am sure that there are those among Dux’s followers that lack that those attributes. Anyone of quality will turn their back on Dux. So what does that say about those that continue to support him?
If you want to learn something about ninjutsu, don’t go to Frank Dux. I will be dealing with a lot of his lies and use them as examples of the pitfalls that you can run into while trying to find a teacher. In this case, I talk about why even videos can’t be trusted.
